Kiln drying is the most essential step in manufacturing
wood profiles. Lumber is kiln dried to reduce
the water content, stabilize the wood, inclrease
the strength and prevent defects like twisting,
cupping or bow.
DOES Pateco™ REALLY KILN DRY WOOD?
Absolutely. Pateco™ stores its inventory
in cool dry locations and will kiln dry the
wood to the desired Moisture Content (MC) before
they are to be processed. The process is never
rushed and is based on accurate drying schedules
which vary depending on the specie and thickness
of the wood.
Pateco™ maintains a fully automated 16-chamber
kiln drying facility that could accommodate
100,000 boardfeet (or 10 truckloads) per chamber.
